Built by someone who's missed a launch detail too.
Why does a 20-year web developer build tools instead of trusting his own memory? Because I once launched a client site and realised one week in that their robots.txt was still in place.
I'm Dave Grey, the founder of Friendly Web Guy—a UK-based web services company. I'm building Website-Toolkit to solve the problems I face on every project.
I've been in IT since 2005 and have spent over a decade doing technical support and site builds for creative agencies and small / medium businesses. In that time I've seen — and caused — the same failure over and over: a launch checklist living in a spreadsheet tab, quietly going out of date the moment a new page gets added. It only takes one client finding a broken form before you do to know that feeling never gets easier.
Why I built this
Website-Toolkit started as an internal tool — an audit and checklist system built to stop the same launch mistakes happening on client sites. Development began in early 2026 to turn that internal process into something any freelancer or small agency could use.
The goal was never "another checklist app." It was to stop a client finding an issue before you do — because that's the moment they start quietly shopping for someone more careful.
Solo freelancers especially feel this — there's no one else to catch it before the client does. Website-Toolkit exists so that working alone doesn't mean being the weak link in your own launches. (Works just as well if there's a small team behind you.)

Spread the word
Website-Toolkit is new, and it grows the same way most freelancers get clients - word of mouth. If a sample audit found issues for you, please let others know - it is the best thank you I could ask for (beyond becoming a paying customer that is).
I read every email - drop me a line with your ideas!
