Custom Launch Templates: Build Your Perfect Workflow

You no longer have to manually prune or add to the base checklist for every new site. Save any project as a template to keep your custom tasks and preferred order.

Custom Launch Templates: Build Your Perfect Workflow

Every web project is different, but your process should not have to be. Whether I am launching a simple brochure site or a complex e-commerce store, I likely have a specific set of steps I follow every single time.

Starting today, you can stop recreating those steps manually. I have introduced Custom Launch Templates, allowing you to turn any existing project into a reusable blueprint for future work.

Start a Launch project

How it Works

The process is simple and integrates directly into your existing workflow:

  1. Create your Master Project: Set up a new Launch or Migration project. You can start with the base template I have provided—which comes with a comprehensive set of steps—and then refine it. Add your own custom tasks, remove the ones you do not need, and adjust the order to fit your ideal flow.
  2. Enable Template Mode: Open the project settings and toggle the "Use this project as a template" option.
  3. Label it: Give your template a clear name (like "Standard WordPress Build" or "WooCommerce Migration") so you can find it easily later.

Why Use Templates?

The biggest benefit is consistency. When you use a template, you ensure that no small detail is missed—like checking the "Search Engine Visibility" toggle in WordPress or verifying your 301 redirects after a migration.

Beyond consistency, it is a massive time-saver. Instead of spending 15 minutes pruning or adding to a task list for every new client, you can do it once and reuse it in seconds.

Total Flexibility

One of the best parts about this system is that existing templates are not set in stone, but they are protected. When you start a new project from a template, it creates a fresh copy. You can then customise that specific project without affecting the original template.

If you find a better way to do things later on, simply update your Master template project. Every new site created from that template from then on will use the latest version of your workflow.
